Natural Nut Butters
Why Palm Oil Free Peanut Butter Tastes Better
Conventional peanut butter has been engineered to be spreadable, consistent and shelf-stable, which sounds fine until you realise that's mostly the job of the palm oil and emulsifiers, not the peanuts.
Our natural nut butters strip all of that out. What's left is peanuts, sometimes a pinch of salt, and in the flavoured versions, whatever's been added to make things interesting. Every variety is vegan, with no palm oil, stabilisers or unnecessary additives.
Mothernutter also carefully roast their peanuts deeper than most brands bother to. Longer roasting draws out more of the natural oils and builds a richer, nuttier flavour that you can actually taste.
The Flavoured Peanut Butter That Doesn't Forget It's Peanut Butter
Flavoured peanut butter tends to go one of two ways: genuinely good, or just sweet with a vague nuttiness somewhere in the background. The difference usually comes down to what you're starting with.
Because Mothernutter's base is already deeply roasted and full of flavour, each blend actually has something to work with. Whether you go smooth or crunchy, sweet or spicy, the peanut holds its own.
Getting the Most Out of Natural Nut Butter
Because there's nothing artificial holding it together, the oil in natural nut butter separates to the top of the jar - and that's actually a good sign!
Give it a stir and you'll have a creamy, consistent texture ready to go. If you store your nut butter in the fridge once open, you'll get a firmer, easier-to-spread result, or store it upside down before you first crack it open to help distribute the oil from the start.
Beyond that, there's not a lot of complicated maintenance involved. Toast it, spread it, stir it into porridge or smoothies, use it as a base for condiments and sauces, or eat it straight from a spoon!
